HomeWolf Frequently Asked Questions
(...actually, they've only been asked a few times, but anyways...)

Q: Why the name Homewolf?
A: Because. Actually, a long time ago, I was looking through one of those "Baby Name" books and found that my name, Randy, meant "the home wolf" and it just kind stuck with me.

Q: Why do we have to log in to post?
A: Because. I've been to other poetry (and message) boards and have decided to take this course of action for two reasons:
  • Nick Protection. Nobody can post as you nor steal your Nick, which happened several times on boards I've visited.
  • Copyright Protection. By posting "as you" via your Nick, you have claims to what you post, it attaches identity to your writings.
Q: Is being a User free?
A: Yes. There is no charge, nor will there be, as long as I work where I work. :) I get free bandwidth, enough to run this site anyways, as a perk. As long as the traffic stays light (shouldn't be a problem, really) this site will always remain free.

Q: But you mean free to us, but you sell our info to others?
A: Absolutely frickin' not! I'm a very big privacy advocate, and detest the "mining" of e-mail addresses and other info to sell. Your info is safe from being sold here. Read the Privacy Policy.

Q: Why did you do X in the design of the site?
A: Over the years I've developed my own taste for what makes a good website. After designing sites professionally I found that I did not want to do it professionally; business customers tend to like a lot of flash (not Flash®, but WOW! OOH! type of flash) and images, which over time I found to be a real pain in the neck to do. My instincts tell me "less graphics, faster load" (and this was when everyone was on dial-up connections!) I love graphics, so don't get me wrong, but I believe in a balance of nice images and content. And HomeWolf represents my ultimate goal, to present content in a nice, elegant way that makes it easy to navigate the site and still looks very nice.

Q: How do I suggest a theme/skin for the site?
A: Coming soon! A way to do so.... :)
